OLIVER BALCH
FREELANCE JOURNALIST
Oliver is a British freelance journalist and writer, specialising on the environment, international development and business.
A regular contributor to The Times and The Guardian, his work has also appeared in The Daily Telegraph, The Financial Times and The Spectator, among other international publications.
In addition to his journalism, Oliver is the author of three reportage-style travel books: ‘Viva South America’ (2009), ‘India Rising’ (2012) and ‘Under The Tump’ (on Wales, May 2016), all published by Faber.
He recently completed a PhD in Latin American Studies at Cambridge University, focusing on corporate-community relations in foreign-sponsored extractive projects.
